Compensation

$75,000 to $175,000 Annually Based on Skills and Experience

+ Onboarding bonus of $10,000 (half at 30 days and half at 18 months)

+ Quarterly and Annual Bonus

Who Are We Looking For?

A vibrant credentialed professional with 3-5 years of public accounting experience in a supervisory capacity that has a passion for the work and is a pleasure to work with. We work very collaboratively, so we are looking for someone that will support and elevate more junior staff members rather than delegate to them. In short, we are looking for a go getter that believes that a rising tide raises all boats and does not have an “I win, you lose” attitude.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Review income tax returns and prepare upper-level business and tax returns

  • Review of bookkeeping and preparation engagement financial statements

  • Review of payroll taxes, W2s and 1099s

  • Ongoing monitoring and reporting to management regarding quality and performance as a firm and by staff member

  • Development and training of bookkeeper and staff accountants through collaborative review and skills development

  • Development of training program for the review of bookkeeping, preparation engagement, business tax returns, payroll taxes, W2s and 1099s and related practice aids

  • Revision and implementation of quality review program

  • Revision and implementation of cybersecurity program

  • Preparation of tax projections on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis

  • Preparation of advanced reports for CFO level clients.

  • Train and elevate the skill levels of more junior staff

  • Coordinate, track and report CPE for staff

  • Understand and apply tax reduction strategies

  • Preparation and/or review of financial statements

  • Preparation of advanced reports for CFO level clients including appropriate metrics

  • Ongoing monitoring and reporting to management regarding quality and performance as a firm and by staff member

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of proven work experience in Public Accounting in a tax role is a must

  • Must be a CPA, EA or licensed preparer

  • Deep knowledge of personal and business tax code, tax concepts, rules, regulations, forms and savings strategies

  • Experience effectively responding to notices from federal, state and local governments regarding income and payroll tax matters

  • Knowledge of QuickBooks Online and Desktop

  • Computer literacy, numerical skills and strong attention to detail are required

  • Experience in Ultra Tax, Accounting CS software is a plus

  • Knowledge of MS Word & Outlook as well as MS Excel is required

  • Excellent verbal, written communication and organizational skills

  • Ability to learn new processes and procedures quickly and execute them reliably

  • Experience with the review of bookkeeping and preparation engagement financial statements

  • Experience with internal quality review programs

  • Experience with cybersecurity programs

  • Is available to work 45 hours per week during year-round.

  • Deep knowledge of payroll, payroll taxes and benefits

  • Deep knowledge of not-for-profit accounting

  • Experience in peer review
